Enterprise Zone ProgramTo attract or assist businesses that plan to expand or relocate to our area, the state of Louisiana has created Enterprise Zones (EZs). The program creates income and franchise tax credits and sales/use tax rebates to qualified businesses that locate within one of the specified geographic areas and/or hire at least 35% of their employees from one of four targeted groups. Administered by the State Office of Commerce and Industry, businesses must acquire a pre-approved EZ application from the Board of Industry and Commerce in order to qualify. The Board of Commerce and Industry approves the EZ applications.
